Inter-Seminary Cooperation Conferences

Go to: Overview | Photo Gallery

Faith And The City hosts a two-day conference twice annually for students, faculty, and staff from Candler School of Theology, Columbia Theological Seminary, and the Interdenominational Theological Center. The event enhances the development of public religious leadership by nurturing inter-seminary cooperation. Relationships among representatives of the three partner seminaries are established and expanded as participants worship and learn together -- exploring questions associated with the roles of their respective institutions in meeting the challenges of seminary education in today's world.

Questions addressed at the March 2001 FATC Inter-Seminary Cooperation Conference include:

  • How should the model for theological education change to develop religious leadership/public church leadership?
  • What might or should happen in continued dialogue and common work between the seminaries?
  • What misgivings, if any, do you have about public church ministry?

In large and small group discussions, both in structured and unstructured settings, students, staff, and faculty from all three partner seminaries, along with Faith And The City representatives, address such issues and formulate plans to enhance inter-seminary collaboration and leadership development on each campus.
