BOLD (Building Opportunities for Leadership and Long-Term Dialogue) Retreat
Description: 2-1/2 day intensive session to examine the impact of prejudice, hatred, misunderstanding, bias, power, injustice and inequity on inter-group tensions; explore the components of a "blended" community; expand the sense of self and community; and strategize a commitment and call to collective action in strengthening positive human relations in Atlanta. Sponsored by the CommUnity Institute at Faith And The City. BOLD goes beyond tolerance and diversity training and engages leaders from Atlanta's business, faith and public, grassroots and non-profit communities. The program is a series of experiences and activities that address the chronic underlying issues that contribute to inter-group tensions in communities. The BOLD program is conducted as a sixty-hour "class" cycle over the course of a year during which community leaders will participate in education and training activities, follow-up sessions, and CommUnity engagement activities.
