Emory University's Fifth Annual Symposium on Science and Religion

Description: Dr. Harold G. Koenig, a scientist renowned for his research into the relationship of health and religion, will be the featured speaker at Emory University's fifth annual Symposium on Science and Religion. Author of dozens of books and articles on religion, health, and ethical issues in medicine, Dr. Koenig is associate professor of medicine and psychiatry and director of the Center for the Study of Religion/Spirituality and Health at Duke University.
Beginning with a noon luncheon in the University's Cox Hall Ballroom, the symposium will feature a keynote address by Dr. Koenig on the relation of spirituality and health. Dr. Charles Raison, assistant professor of psychiatry at Emory, and Dr. Gary Gunderson, director of Emory's Interfaith Health Program in the Rollins School of Public Health, will offer perspectives in response. The luncheon symposium will conclude by 1:30 p.m. (Visitor parking is available in the Peavine Parking Deck.)
