Bridges TV will premier in the Atlanta metro area this month with the goal of narrowing the gap between East and West, more specifically between the people of the United States and Canada and those of Islamic communities worldwide. An English language television network that broadcasts around the clock seven days a week, Bridges TV already airs in other major cities throughout North America, reaching millions of viewers.
“The purpose of Bridges TV is to build a dialog between Americans
and one billion Middle Eastern and South Asian people,” explained network founder and CEO Mo S. Hassan. “The network accomplishes this by entertaining and educating America and the world like never before.”
Mr. Hassan is a former banker and a 1996 honors graduate of the MBA program at the Simon School of Business, University of Rochester.
According to Doug Gatlin, executive director of Faith And The City, an Atlanta-based non-profit that encourages dialogue across faith traditions and works to amplify the voices of all faith communities on public issues, Bridges TV is the right idea at the right time for Atlanta and the nation.
“Bridges TV will bring a more accurate view of Muslim people and the Islamic faith,” said Mr. Gatlin. “It will provide information and entertainment and, equally important, much-needed insight into the everyday lives of our Muslim neighbors next door and around the world.”
Bridges TV features a range of offerings that include news and current affairs, sit-coms and entertainment, movies and drama, shows for kids, sports, talk shows, and lifestyle programming.
The network will begin airing in the Atlanta metro community on Friday, June 22, on Comcast Cable channel 176. For more information, visit www.bridgestv.com.
