Eric Law, Noted Cultural Diversity Trainer, to Visit Atlanta

Faith And The City Notice
September 29, 2003

The Rev. Eric H. F. Law, a prominent consultant and trainer on race relations and cultural diversity who has devoted the past 15 years to creating inclusive communities, will visit Atlanta October 15-17 (Inter-Seminary Worship Service; Luncheon).

Born in Hong Kong, Law immigrated during his teens to the United States and first learned to speak English listening to American folk music. With degrees in engineering and theology, he brings an interdisciplinary approach to seeking new ways to understand cultural diversity.

Law is the author of five books: The Wolf Shall Dwell with the Lambs; The Bush Was Burning But Not Consumed; Inclusion; Sacred Acts, Holy Change; and The Word at the Crossings. As a consultant and trainer in multicultural ministry and building inclusive community for a range of theological seminaries and leading Christian denominations, he has touched congregations in scores of communities throughout the nation. Law is also a composer of church music, a photographer, and a playwright.

During his visit to Atlanta, Law will speak at several venues on "fresh concepts and practical ideas to help your congregation move forward in multi-cultural relationships."

Law's visit is sponsored by the Faith And The City Program at the Interdenominational Theological Center in cooperation with the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. Faith And The City is a nonsectarian nonprofit organization that nurtures a sense of community throughout the 20-county Atlanta metro region. Faith And City encourages people of all faiths to engage in public discussion of critical issues and bring a moral dimension to civic dialogue.
