Embracing the Sacred at the City Center: Heart of Atlanta Network
There are about 400 of them now and their numbers are growing. They work in a range of professions in the public and private sectors. They are linked by their affiliation with an organization that places no limits on the number of people it seeks to reach. They meet in downtown Atlanta on Monday mornings at 7:30 for prayer. They gather in small groups during the week to study, discuss the common good, share meals, and fellowship with one another. Is this another strange cult for the authorities to watch?

ITC: Environmental Justice and Stewardship Project Launched
The new initiative will develop an academic course for degree-seeking seminarians and a continuing education course for clergy and laypersons, preparing students to integrate awareness of environmental justice and stewardship issues into their ministries. The first course will be offered this fall for students at ITC and other Faith And The City partner seminaries.

Candler: Pitts Theological Library
This facility, at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, is the second-largest theological library in the nation, now housing more than 500,000 volumes. The 95,000 volumes in special collections range from the English Religious History Collection, a body of about 35,000 items that date from 1660 until 1920, to the English and American Hymnody and Psalmody Collection, about 15,000 print and microfilm items from the 16th through the 20th centuries, one of America's two great research collections for the study of hymnody, according to the Library of Congress.

Columbia: Center for New Church Development
The center focuses the seminary's resources on the missional challenge of new church development in the United States; applies a Reformed theology of the Missio Dei to the task of new church development with the nation as a mission field; integrates teaching, research, and consulting as ways to influence new church formation; and implements programs in cooperation with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and other Protestant denominations.

PBS Special: "Muslims"
On Thursday, May 9, at 9 PM on PBS (check local listings), Frontline and the Independent Production Fund present "Muslims." This two-hour show aims to "present an objective and informed portrait of Muslims and the diversity among them" through detailed portraits of people in Nigeria, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, Malaysia and the United States.
