The Congregational Exchange Program, headed by its founding executive director, Jan Swanson, has nurtured racial and religious reconciliation and cultivated a sense of community throughout the Atlanta metro area by partnering congregations across the divisions of race, culture, and faith tradition. Now collaborating with 150 congregations, the program operates under the umbrella of Faith And The City.

Announcement: "Iraq and the World: Peace, War, and Religion," featuring Ambassador Andrew Young
"Iraq and the World: Peace, War, and Religion," featuring Ambassador Andrew Young, is the discussion topic for the premiere of the new cable TV program, "Faith And The City Forum: Interfaith Dialogue on Public Issues." Part 1 of the premiere airs Tuesday, March 4, at 7:30 a.m. and repeats Wednesday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. on Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters cable channels. Part 2 of the Iraq discussion will be broadcast the following week, same days and times. Subsequent presentations of the weekly, 30-minute panel discussion will be hosted by Steen Miles and feature clergy, laity, and subject experts representing a range of faith traditions and discussing a variety of public issues.

Event: "A Vision of King from The Other Side"
Thirty-five years after his death, Martin Luther King, Jr., is widely celebrated as an American hero. Yet in many ways, the public image of King has been largely domesticated, institutionalized, and commercialized. As we gather at Ebenezer Baptist Church, we will address this problem by way of examining the radical witness and vision of King and how it is relevant to the Atlanta community as well as the national and global struggle for justice.

Event: Jean Vanier to lead Christian Unity Retreat
Jean Vanier, Founder of L'Arche, will lead a two-day retreat in June of 2003. L'Arche is an international federation of residential communities for those with mental disabilities. Participants will represent a variety of Christian traditions.
