Cascade United Methodist Church member Juanita Vassar and Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church member Virginia Mayer have a friendship that is social as well as spiritual. They met through their involvement with the Friend-to-Friend Program, an initiative of the Congregational Exchange Program, which brings together congregations in partnerships across racial lines to nurture closer bonds -- racially, spiritually, and socially.

Announcement: "Religious Faith and the Georgia Flag"
"Religious Faith and the Georgia Flag" is the topic of this week's new weekly cable TV program, Faith And The City Forum: Interfaith Dialogue on Public Issues. Originally aired during the week of March 24, the panel discussion is being rebroadcast due to renewed interest in public discussion of the Georgia flag controversy. Faith And The City Forum airs Tuesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. and repeats Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. on Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters cable network. Hosted by veteran Atlanta newswoman Steen Miles, the 30-minute panel discussion features a range of clergy, laity, and subject experts representing a cross-section of faith traditions and discussing a variety of public issues.

Event: Celebration 2003: An Interfaith Conference, Luncheon and Fashion Show Extravaganza, May 9 - 11
An interfaith conference for women only. The weekend will begin with a jazz concert open to men and women at the Holiday Inn Decatur. Saturday events, for women only, include workshops lunch and fashion show. Tiffany Cochran will serve as the MC for the Fashion Show.

Event: Jean Vanier to lead Christian Unity Retreat
Jean Vanier, Founder of L'Arche, will lead a two-day retreat in June of 2003. L'Arche is an international federation of residential communities for those with mental disabilities. Participants will represent a variety of Christian traditions.
