FATC Forum Launches “New Season”
on AIB Cable TV
Faith And The City e.Letter
Nov. 7, 2005
The award-winning panel-discussion series, Faith And The City Forum Faith: Interfaith Dialogue on Public Issues, shelved its re-runs and launched the fall season this month with the premier of an all-new discussion and plans for a range of fresh topics.
The first panel discussion focuses on a recently published book, Alligators in the Swamp: Power, Ministry, and Leadership (Pilgrim Press, 2005), which was inspired by the authors’ experiences with Faith And The City. The book explores the nature of power and the challenges it poses to pastoral ministry. Using the alligator metaphor as the book's title, the authors illustrate the complexity of power and how it can be used effectively.
The two-part program on Alligators in the Swamp is hosted by Steen Miles and features three of the four authors – George Thompson, Beverly Thompson, and Harvey Newman. Unfortunately, the fourth member of the team, Jim Watkins, was unable to participate.
Faith And The City Forum will continue to air on AIB Cable Network channels throughout the metro area. Plans call for each panel discussion on a given topic to be broadcast in two, 30-minute segments over a four-week cycle -- Part 1 airing in weeks 1 and 3, with Part 2 airing in weeks 2 and 4. The weekly airtime schedule for the season is:
Monday at 4:00PM
Tuesday at 7:30 AM
Wednesday at 7:30 PM
Thursday at 5:00 PM
